Vera Wang Fall 2010 fashion week collection
2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Vera Wang
You're always in for a treat with Vera Wang, and this season, the designer didn't disappoint. While there was a decidedly sombre feel worked into the film noir inspired collection, feminine shapes and tulle detailing kept things interesting. A strong focus on pants took centre stage, with skinny styles worked back with beautifully draped tunics and asymmetrical shell tops, and shoulders were highlighted through puffed, feathered and transparent sleeves.
Dresses did make a brief appearance and were kept short and textured, with a standout teal number cleverly styled over slouchy black pants. Simple accessories were key as multi-strand pearl necklaces replaced jewels and crystals, and long black gloves kept bare arms warm. Take it from Vera, black is anything but boring.
