Versus Takes Us Back to the '90s, Courtesy of Its Archive
Those Prince of Wales check jackets you're seeing everywhere this Autumn? If Donatella Versace has her way, they'll be going nowhere come Spring. The Versus collection opened with a series of fun, modern takes on this classic check, from shirt dresses with western detailing to rock-chick 3/4-length coats. They were followed by neon-trimmed logo t-shirts and mesh that owed a lot to '90s streetwear, right down to the chokers and cropped hoodies that came with them. Add in some contrast-stitch indigo denim and boxy co-ord sets printed with belts, chains, and safety pins, and you have something for every cool kid who shops this iconic diffusion line. The collection drew heavily from the Versus archive, which goes a long way to explain why the retro elements felt authentic, but everything was ripe to be worn immediately. Take a closer look for yourself now.
