We Want Every Single Thing From Zimmermann's Spring 2019 Collection
Australian label Zimmermann presented it's Spring Summer 2019 offering at New York Fashion Week overnight to influencers, celebrities and editors. The collection, named "Ninety-Six", was inspired by Australian television soap, Number 96, that aired in the 1970s.
"It was naughty and irreverent and hilarious. It was even more appealing to me because as a really young kid I definitely wasn't allowed to watch it!", explains creative director Nicky Zimmermann. "It was set in an apartment block of four in Paddington in the inner city of Sydney and explored storylines that were considered taboo at the time – sex, adultery, drugs and homosexuality."
These sentiments came to life in the form of paisley prints, billowy lantern sleeves and thigh skimming shift dresses, and the domination of mustard and tan shades amplified the '70s influence even more. Epic is an understatement.
