Cult Australian Fashion Brand Aje Dazzle at New York Fashion Week

Although New York Fashion Week might feel far away, you’ll be pleased to know two Australian fashion brands are absolutely killing it over there.

One of Australia’s most prominent fashion brands of the moment, bringing fresh designs, colours and silhouettes to Australian runways since 2008, Aje has made its debut on the international fashion week scene.

As one of the two Australian brands featured in this year’s New York Fashion Week — along with celebrity-loved Aussie brand Dion Lee — Aje holds its own, bringing its signature block colours, cut-outs and textured fabrics to a showcase at venue Roll & Hill, in the heart of Manhattan.

Created in 2008 by co-founders Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest, Aje is dedicated to raw beauty, tough femininity and effortless cool; the quintessential Australian it-girl style.

Today, it ships to over 221 countries, is stocked in more than 80 international retailers and has countless celebrity fans. This step into New York Fashion Week seems not only natural, but well-deserved.

“It has been an incredible period of growth for the brand, inspiring us to continually set out sights higher,” says Adrian Norris, co-founder and CEO.

“Presenting off schedule at NYFW is a significant milestone in the next stage of our story. With a focus on expanding Aje’s US reach, we’re connecting without international customers and introducing new Aje women into our world.”

Their new, dawn-esque Spring/Summer collection, Lumen, was inspired by Noguchi Garden, a sculpture garden in Southern California. In true Aje style, they incorporate natural minerality, organic materials and artistic landscapes, all with a uniquely Australian undertone.

Below, see our favourite looks from the Aje NYFW off-schedule showcase, of their new collection, Lumen.

Looks will be available to shop online soon.
