If you’re going to receive an award, then you have to dress the part. Anya Taylor-Joy and her stylist Paul Burgo have shown yet again that they understand this well. The Queen’s Gambit and Last Night in Soho actress showed up to this year’s historic CFDA Fashion Awards in a purple Oscar de La Renta suit that packs serious oomph.

Featuring a belted blazer and a miniskirt, the two-piece set dials up the allure, while the accessories (matching leopard-print gloves and hat) bring a theatrical elegance to the ensemble. New York-based brand Gigi Burris Millinery created a custom hat for the 25-year-old star, designed in a vintage silhouette and embellished with hand-draped silk veiling.

Basically, Anya Taylor-Joy told us she’s about to receive an award without telling us she’s about to receive an award. Scroll on for her look, finished with Stuart Weitzman pumps, and bask in the dramatic elegance of it all.
