Aubrey Plaza’s Stylist Defends Her Underboob-Baring Dress at the SAG Awards

The SAG Awards was Sunday, Feb. 26, in Los Angeles, but fans can’t stop talking about Aubrey Plaza‘s bold outfit choice. Stylist Jessica Paster dressed the actress in a gold sequin gown, designed by Michael Kors, that boasted crisscross straps across her chest leading to a floor-grazing bottom with a thigh-high front slit. Underneath, she wore gold heeled sandals and she accessorized with jewelry from Mouawad.

The dress has been criticized for Plaza’s underboob, of all things, with fans claiming that it was either poor fitting or a wardrobe malfunction. Paster has defended her choice of styling, commenting on some posts to write, “did 7 fittings…for real…I wanted underboob.

The underboob-revealing trend is growing in popularity, with stars like Sydney Sweeney, Megan Fox, Kylie Jenner, and more sporting the revealing look regularly. So, it seems odd that Plaza and her stylist are receiving such criticism for the choice.

The comments are only fueled further by reports that Plaza was “annoyed” and “pissed off” while on-stage at the event, reportedly after a fellow star warned her that she was about to suffer an unwanted wardrobe malfunction. Although Paster has commented on the wardrobe choice, Plaza has yet to weigh in on the conversation.

Just this fall, Plaza wore a similar look with a totally backless halter gown featuring a high front slit. And, at the beginning of the month, she chose another torso-baring look with a cropped bustier and side-slit skirt for the Directors Guild of America Awards.
