Forget Cone Bras – Cardi B’s Swimsuit Has Whipped-Cream Nipple Covers

Vijat Mohindra For Whipshots

Cardi B has partnered with vodka-infused whipped cream brand Whipshots to launch the new limited edition lime flavor for summer 2023. With the release comes a “Whip It, Beaches” campaign to match, lensed by Vijat Mohindra. Naturally, the 30-year-old rapper and mogul slipped into character for the kitschy beach photos, giving the pin-up aesthetic her own signature twist. In a white cutout swimsuit custom-designed by her stylist Kollin Carter for the shoot, Cardi lounges on the sand, licks her lips while holding a cocktail, and draws attention to her Michael Schmidt whipped cream cat-eye sunglasses, adorned with rhinestones at the swirl.

Though the white monokini takes on two of the most prominent trends on the market – a high cut silhouette and striking cutouts – it also features large rosettes at the bust meant to be reflective of the dessert topping. Similar 3D florals have trickled down from Spring/Summer 2023 runways such as Loewe, Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Coperni, Magda Butrym, and more, popping up on everything from chokers to statement tops. When it comes to swimwear, we’ve seen comparable pieces from Same LA, Maygel Coronel, Mango, and Flaxmaker. But Cardi’s look is certainly all her own. The musician accessorized with wavy diamond drop earrings and employed sharp milk-white nails. Her eyeshadow complemented the lime color scheme above her curled lashes, and her nude lip was heavily lined to provide contrast. Finally, Cardi sported a curled blonde hairstyle with a pouf at the top and brow-grazing bangs. Her famous tattoo collection is largely on display throughout all of the images.

Cardi premiered the product itself at a private event in LA on Monday, May 22, where she made cocktails for guests using Whipshots in a vibrant Emilio Pucci graphic print catsuit and towering avant-garde platforms by Harry Kristoff. At the Met Gala earlier this month, the star flaunted a sculptural gown by Chenpeng Studio that coincidentally also featured 3D rose structures. However, she wore a total of three different outfits for the ball, leaving her hotel in a Miss Sohee pink bustier gown with a tulle headpiece and touring the museum in a plunging Richard Quinn dress designed to mimic Chanel tweed with a pink-and-black houndstooth print.
