Halle Bailey is fully embracing her Princess Ariel era. The actor wore another aquatic-inspired dress to the “Little Mermaid” premiere in Mexico City on May 11, proving she was born to star in the live-action remake. Bailey’s stylist Nicky Good dipped into the Georges Chakra archives to select a pale-blue gown from the Lebanese fashion designer’s spring 2004 couture collection. The ethereal dress featured a plunging neckline trimmed with pearls, halter-style straps, an open back, and a sheer tulle skirt woven in a net-like fashion.

Bailey accessorized with diamond and pearl drop earrings, silver crystal-embellished heels, and seashell chrome nails by celebrity nail artist Yoko Sakakura. She swept her braids back into a long ponytail and showed off every angle of her regal look while posing on the red carpet with costar Javier Bardem, who plays King Triton in the Disney movie.

Bailey has been sartorially channeling her mythical character ahead of “The Little Mermaid”‘s theatrical release on May 26. At the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles earlier this week, the 23-year-old singer dazzled in a custom Valdrin Sahiti gown with a seashell-inspired bust, and she chose a sheer turquoise ball gown for the Oscars in March.

Bailey previously told POPSUGAR how her older sister, Chloe Bailey, has inspired her to take more red carpet risks. “[Chloe’s] helped me step outside of the box when it comes to what I wear,” she said. “I’m really grateful for my big sister in that way because she’s been the one who’s pushing me to move forward in my confidence when I have to go on these carpets alone.” That confidence has certainly been on display during her recent press tour, and we can’t wait to see what she wears next.
