Your Step-By-Step Guide to Dressing More Like Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie Bradshaw: the ultimate fashion icon.

She continues to inspire us with her creative and cutting-edge looks in the SATC reboot And Just Like That… with fashion moments as iconic as they were when we first met her, back in 1998.

To see a character transcend the decades so fashionably and effortlessly is a true inspiration. I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but feel as though my wardrobe is so boring compared to hers and as I watch this new series, I feel the urge to go out and shop for some statement shoes, to be specific.

But how can we dress more like Carrie? She’s such a unique visionary, I wouldn’t ever attempt to be exactly like her. Instead, let us create our own versions of her, by being our most out-there, creative and bold versions of ourselves.

Here are three ways you can dress more like Carrie Bradshaw:

Get Comfy in Figure Hugging Dresses

Carrie loves a tight dress moment. We’re yet to see her get her pins out in And Just Like That… but the tight mini dress has been a staple of Carrie’s ever since the start of SATC. She might opt for an over-the-knee option in this reboot, but we’ve already seen some sneak peeks of gorgeous figure-hugging looks. Carrie always pairs a simple tight dress with a fabulous coat or statement jewellery, and always, a fab pair of shoes.

Shop the look: Bec + Bridge does incredible bodycon slips, like the Livania Mini Dress ($220) which comes in black, white and blush. Pair this with some funky shoes like these Wittner Humility Patent Leather Pumps ($220) and baby, you’ve got the look.

Wear Clashing Patterns & Prints

Carrie loves a busy print, and not only that, but she loves to match them with other busy prints. This is a true art form, but somehow it looks so effortless on her. Don’t worry, we’re here to help.

An easy way to combine prints is to wear a floral with an animal print. A floral dress or pants with a leopard print shoe is always a goer. You could also find yourself a cute patterned twin-set, which gives the illusion of a clashing print but the work has been done for you. Basically, you just want to stand out.

Shop the look: This Aere Puff Ball Linen Dress in Retro Fun Floral ($170) would go amazingly with these Cliff Leopard Print Mules from Freelance Shoes ($79.95). Trust and believe.

Over-Accessorise

Carrie has so many accessories on at all times. You probably don’t even notice because she is always so impeccably styled, that they just add to the outfit and don’t overpower it, but these accessories make the look. Everything from hairpieces to statement jewellery, to sparkly gloves and funky belts, Carrie’s ability to carry off any accessory never ceases to amaze.

If you’re not big on accessorising, I’d recommend starting small. Maybe try a pair of slightly bolder earrings or a funky lipstick colour (orange is always a winner), or even a pair of out-there shoes.

Shop the look: Add a cute Morgan & Taylor neck scarf, like the Kathleen Scarf ($34.95) to your look, or a statement chain neckline like this Finn Chain from Alix Yang ($87) for some extra bling.

You could also look at adding more colour to your footwear collection because shoes can literally jazz up any outfit. Wittner has some gorgeous greens, pinks and oranges in its current collections, or something super out there, like these Sophia Webster Flo Flamingo Mid Mules ($795).
