Kate Middleton Brought Out Her Most Festive Outfits For the Royal Train Tour

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three day tour aboard the Royal Train takes the couple through England, Scotland, and Wales and is a way to “pay tribute to the incredible work of individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond in response to the coronavirus pandemic,” according to Kensington Palace. And while the focus of the tour is on the amazing work of the charities and frontline and essential workers, we couldn’t help but notice Kate’s many festive outfits on the trip. From cozy fair isle jumpers and red and green tartan scarves to the array of statement-making coats she’s pulled from her wardrobe, the Duchess’s ensembles for this minitour are definitely making us feel merry and bright.

From the very start of the tour – when the couple arrived at Euston Station to start the journey – Catherine showed off her festive sartorial spirit, accessorizing her favorite forest-green Alexander McQueen coat with a red-and-green tartan scarf by York Scarves.

Later that evening, for a visit to FareShare Greater Manchester – part of FareShare UK, an organization that redistributes surplus food from food businesses to charities, community centers, and homeless shelters across the UK – Catherine gave us a royal take on the Christmas jumper, wearing her navy blue Hobbs London Bianca Coat over a fair isle jumper from a capsule collection between Scottish retailer Brora and Troy London, the latter of which is one of the Duchess’s go-to brands. (The jumper is still available for $261, although it won’t ship until March.)

On the second day of the tour, the Royal Train brought the Cambridges to Cardiff, where Catherine stepped out in one of her brightest, most festive outfits yet – her crimson Alexander McQueen coat paired with a matching tartan scarf and skirt.

With one more day and a few more stops for the train to make, we’re sure Catherine has a few more festive outfits planned. Keep reading to see the ensembles she’s worn so far, and watch this space as the 2020 Royal Train Tour continues.
