Noah Cyrus Stands For Representation With the Designers She Wore at the CMT Awards

Noah Cyrus made a statement in more ways than one at the CMT Awards, where she performed “This Is Us” alongside Jimmie Allen – but let’s start with that bikini bedazzled bodysuit. The look, embellished with rhinestones and crystals to resemble a G-string bottom and triangle top, comes custom from Saga NYC, which is a slow fashion brand based out of Bushwick, NY focused on using upcycled materials to create made-to-order pieces. Sustainability? Check.

But before Cyrus took the stage with Allen, she walked the red carpet in deconstructed patchwork denim by Hardeman Jeans Couture, a knit crochet crop top by Black-owned label Gorjeti (heads up, you can actually purchase the exact custom halter she wore for $500!), and an incredible glowing, crystalized denim zip-up by queer label Phallic Cvnt, which is also responsible for creating Noah’s white cowboy hat, gloves, and face mask that matched her performance look. A pair of tall, patent Jeffrey Campbell boots with chainlink details at the ankles and CHRISHABANA Jewels also accessorized her fashion moment on stage, bringing the outfit full circle and giving it every finishing touch it called for.

Cyrus gave full credit to her team of stylists on Instagram, including Steph Thorpe and Phil Gomez, who messaged me to confirm: “[Noah] wore all female, POC, queer designers and brands!” We’re here applauding them, too. It’s nice to see two outfits that really capture the spotlight made up of pieces from small, diverse companies that stand for representation. And kudos to Cyrus for choosing them for her big night. Read ahead to take in all the details, then rewatch her performance.
