Even if you know little to nothing about wedding dresses, you’d have heard the name Vera Wang. The New York designer, known for her luxurious, yet classic wedding dress styles, has dressed everyone from Kaley Cuoco and Victoria Beckham, to Jessica Simpson, Hailey Bieber and Kim Kardashian on their special days.

Khloe Kardashian, who wore Vera Wang to her 2008 wedding to Lamar Odom, put it best: “I feel like when you think of weddings, you think of Vera Wang.”

And now, finally, her Vera Wang Bride collection — a new collaboration between the bridal designer and renowned bridal dressmaker Pronovias — has landed Down Under, with 25 of the most significant debut pieces available at Sydney bridal boutique Eternal Bridal. The dresses will make up the most extensive collection of Vera Wang Bride wedding dresses on offer to brides in Australia.

“Vera Wang has long been renowned for her modern and bold bridal dresses catering to stylish brides who want to wear something that represents the modern woman,” says Eternal Bride CEO Sebastian Lee. “This collection will offer more Sydney brides the opportunity to make their Vera Wang dream come true.”

While a traditional Vera Wang couture wedding dress costs upwards of $10,000, on average, the new Vera Wang Bride collection has dresses ranging from an affordable $3,000 – $5,000. As for the designs of the new collection’s dresses, though, you can expect them to still be top-notch.

“Whatever price point I am working at, it’s important to us that the same attention is paid… the same sense of responsibility, devotion, dedication and effort,” says Wang. “With this collection, we’re able to walk the fine line between being commercial, which you don’t want to be a dirty word, and being creative.”

“It’s about an exploration of silhouettes that are not necessarily expected. When you look at the proportions of the skirts, the cuts, and the details, it’s the DNA of our brand… it’s everything that we’ve done for ages, but with a lot of value.”

The gowns will be available at Eternal Bride Sydney boutique from January 20, 2022.
