Versace by Fendi or “Fendace” is not a collaboration, but a spectacular fashion swap that celebrates the “friendship and the cultural impact” of two legendary – and once rivalling – Italian luxury houses. To close out Milan Fashion Week, Versace creative director Donatella Versace and Fendi creative director Kim Jones swapped roles for one night only to present two 25-look collections at the Versace family palazzo on Via Gesù. As impressive as the new Fendace logo and the iconic fusion designs was the star-studded front row and the supermodel lineup.

Versace by Fendi spring/summer 2022, otherwise titled “Fendace” or “The Swap” was modelled by ’90s supers Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Amber Valletta, Kristen McMenamy, Shalom Harlow, Kate Moss, and newcomers Gigi Hadid and Lila Grace Moss Hack. Sultry Versace silhouettes were recoded with the interlocking Fendi logo in sheer and sparkling fabrics, iconic Versace prints were given boxier silhouettes akin to Jones’s designs for Fendi, and cosy knit dresses were covered in Versace’s signature safety pin details. Sitting front row was Dua Lipa, Niall Horan, Elizabeth Hurley and son Damian Hurley, as well as Demi Moore, Addison Lee, Winnie Harlow, and Iris Law.
