POPSUGAR Australia: Have you got any tips and tricks for nailing a job interview?
KJ: The best piece of advice I always give people is to stay confident. An interview is the one opportunity you have to talk about what you know the most about — yourself! So much of making it in this industry is the ability to adapt to frequent changes, learn from prior experiences and ultimately make decisions based on your gut, as there’s rarely a clear cut answer!
Dress in what you’re most comfortable in, while always airing on the side of professional, of course.
It’s also imperative that you do your homework before your interview! Make it a point to know your brands, their key audience and customer. It’s always apparent when someone is not familiar with your brand and there’s nothing more frustrating as the interviewer.
PS: What is one piece of advice you would give someone going for a job like yours?
KJ: Always be curious, positive and open to trying different things. As I said, no day is the same but if you are accepting of new ideas and treat every day as a learning experience you’ll excel (especially if you have a good attitude while doing it!). Fashion should be fun and I make sure to enjoy each day!
