“Balletcore” Buns Were Everywhere at the 2023 Golden Globes

The 2023 Golden Globes are just kicking off, and we already spot an emerging hairstyle trend. “Ballerina buns were a popular choice for many of the stars who hit the red carpet. For the unfamiliar, the “balletcore” aesthetic has taken over TikTok with many people wanting to emulate the soft, whimsical energy of ballerinas – signature bun hairstyle included.

Those who opted to wear the updo include actors Bailey Bass, Li Jun Li, Kaley Cuoco, Liza Koshy, comedian Megan Stalter, and influencer Kelsey Kreppel. Just like in the dance studio, the ballet buns at the 80th annual awards come in a variety of different looks. Some wore the bun low at the nape of the neck, like Kreppel, while Cuoco, Koshy, and Bass all wore their hair piled high on the top of their heads. Also worth mentioning is Koshy’s slick, side-swept bangs, which completed her look.
