As expected, Bella Hadid rang in her 26th birthday with impeccable style. After a whirlwind Fashion Month gracing the runways of New York, London, Milan, and Paris, the model returned to New York City just in time for the big day. On Oct. 9, Hadid’s boyfriend, Marc Kalman, brought the model to a surprise dinner at Lucali restaurant in Brooklyn, where Gigi Hadid, Yolanda Hadid, and other family and friends were there to celebrate. Initially planning for an intimate date night for two, Hadid went for a nostalgic, Y2K-inspired vibe for her birthday look.

The model wore an entirely sheer dress with an intricate lace pattern, featuring a plunging neckline and thick navy blue lining down the front – details reminiscent of the Hervé Léger dresses that reigned supreme in the ’90s. She layered an oversized leather jacket over the knee-length naked dress, and for accessories, added thong sandal kitten heels, yellow tinted sunglasses, and a satin Amina Muaddi purse with “Ciao Bella” written across the front. Sporting heavy side bangs, pencil-thin eyebrows, blue eyeshadow, and a glossy brown lip, her hair and makeup were also nostalgic for the early aughts.

Earlier in the day, Hadid chose a more casual outfit for her birthday festivities, wearing a unique overall-style denim dress, which she paired with a long gray trench coat. She completed the deconstructed number with glitter black leg warmers, black ballet slippers, and a long pearl Chanel necklace.
