PS: What elements make a good street style photo?
SS: It's the combination of a beautiful woman (or man, and beauty being in the eye of the beholder, not only model-like beauty), light, location and clothes that make that person stand out. You can tell when someone feels comfortable in what they wear. A great street style photo will have something slightly unexpected for it to stand out, some element of surprise.
I also think that now when we talk about 'street style' photos, it means so many different things. They are photos taken in the context of fashion shows most of the time, but the style can be that portrait, documentary or editorial photography, it's not only the person standing there facing the camera with a clean background anymore. It's exciting to see how many interesting ways of capturing someone are out there and I have to give credit to my colleagues.
