The Spring Trends Our Editors Can’t Get Enough Of

OZSALE

Although we’re currently in the depths of winter, we’re looking firmly ahead to spring. In fact, perhaps it’s our current plethora of layers, heavy knitted fabrics, and closed-toe-only shoe wardrobe that’s got us looking to sunnier days. Probably, it’s because a new season also heralds a new set of trends that (call me a sappy optimist) bring a new set of opportunities with them.

This spring, we’re looking to timeless trends that come back season after season — think well-cut suits but for warmer days — and dopamine dressing to help us tear ourselves out of bed in the mornings.

While we’re adding strategic trend pieces to our wardrobes for spring, we’re also being smart about how we spend our money. That means we’re turning to OZSALE to shop the huge range of Australian and international brands (including Calvin Klein Underwear, Tommy Hilfiger, Reiss and Adidas) at reduced prices. Even better, everything can be shopped with Klarna, so you can buy now and pay later in four interest-free instalments

Here’s our tightly curated list of the trends we’ll be embracing fully, come spring.

Sky-High Platforms

If there’s one footwear trend you should (physically) prepare to embrace this spring, it’s the sky-high platform shoe. Adored by the Spice Girls in the late ‘90s, platform heels have made a comeback in a big way this year, with designers like Valentino and also high street brands all releasing their take on the trend.

The ankle-strapped style above (available in both black and pink satin shades) is the most popular style to pop up for spring, but we also love the timeless Gucci platform loafer for a more wearable, everyday style. Pair these with white ruffle socks, à la Emma Chamberlain, for a sweet and comfortable style.

Green on Green

Green was all over the runway at fashion week in May, and we’re ready to dress head-to-toe in every shade under the sun this spring — whether that’s with billowing khaki trousers, an all-green tailored suit, or bright accessories that make our otherwise neutral outfit sing.

One of our favourite ways to embrace trends is by finding the sweet spot where timeless styles meet current (and yes, trending) colours and silhouettes — then shopping them secondhand. This is especially true for big-ticket items, like the classic Loewe flamenco knot clutch in a striking lime green shade we’re currently eyeing, which is guaranteed authenticity through OZSALE (and available to shop with Klarna).

Cut-Outs

The moment Kendall Jenner wore a dress that was more cut-out than dress to Lauren Perez’s wedding, she ushered in a trend that isn’t going anywhere any time soon. If you’ve tried to find a dress to wear to a wedding since, well, you’ll know that it’s nearly impossible to find out without cut-outs, too.

For a casual day look, opt for t-shirt and bandeau styles, and for evening or more formal events (like a wedding), opt for midi- and maxi-length dresses with more subtle cut-outs on the sides and back. Contrary to what Kendall thinks, belly buttons are not chic accessories for wedding guests (unless the dress code explicitly says so), TBH!

Suits With a Little Something Extra

Suits became staples in our wardrobes this winter, so as the weather starts to heat up, we’ll transition this trend to spring with brighter colours, lightweight fabrics, and equally flattering cuts.

For warmer days, this asymmetrical blouse from Jacquemus will take you from work to drinks seamlessly. The linen-cotton blend fabric makes it breathable, while the gathered bodice detail and slightly barrelled sleeves add plenty of interest. For those rogue cooler days, we especially love the structured waist on this Jacquemus Blazer, made slightly more casual with the drop shoulders and striking fuchsia hue. In our opinion, it’s the perfect trans-seasonal piece.

You can shop all of these trends right now, on OZSALE with Klarna — so check it all out here.
