My Day on a Plate: The Matilda's Caitlin Foord
Caitlin Foord, 23, is a sporting superstar. At 16, she was the youngest Australian to ever represent the country at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, she plays for Sydney FC and although currently injured she's also a Matilda. We caught up with this bright, young thing at the Nike Australia and Football Federation Australia launch of the 2018 national team collection and she was every bit inspiring as we expected.
Growing up Caitlin learned quick that combining a healthy lifestyle with her training was the best way to hit her performance goals on the field. That's why each day on her plate is important. She admits that while each day is quite similar with a few tweaks here and there she still allows for balance.
"I think what you put in you get out, that's a big thing that I've learnt. I wasn't eating the best when I was younger, it was fine, but as I've grown up I noticed, and saw it a bit in my game as well," says Caitlin. "I was going through that period where I couldn't really work it out. Obviously turning into a woman as well your body changes, it was just figuring myself out, but I've noticed what I've put into my body reflects what I get out."
And with that we bring you Caitlin's impressive day on a plate.
