We can always trust Jillian Michaels to keep things real. When we asked the health and fitness expert and creator of the My Fitness by Jillian Michaels App the biggest myth people believe when it comes to getting rid of belly fat, she replied, "People think you can spot-reduce fat. That's the top mistake I see people make when trying to get a six-pack or flat tummy."

And we couldn't agree more! For example, focusing on crunches alone is not an effective way to carve out a chiseled midsection, nor will do doing a squats every day help you achieve booty gains. Targeting a specific part of your body ironically requires working your entire body.

Since spot reduction is nearly impossible, Jillian recommends the following exercises strategies to burn body fat:
