For a long time now, eating carbs has been somewhat demonised in relation to weight loss. It's almost understandable given the fact that some carbs can be highly calorific and others can cause bloating. However, as this post highlights, there's no such thing as a "bad carb," because different forms of the macronutrient serve different purposes — none of which should ever be disqualified.

Although many popular weight loss diets such as the keto diet, rely on drastically cutting carbs to force the body to burn it's fat stores for energy, blindly limiting your carb intake for excessive amounts of time can affect many aspects of your health including blood sugar levels, and bone health.

If your intentions are simply to follow a healthy, balanced diet, finding out where and how to fit carbs into your diet, will be more beneficial to your health in the long run than banning them from your life altogether. Like the caption says, "as with all foods, certain carbs will be more beneficial to our physical health, and other carbs will be less so. This doesn't mean both can't be present in a balanced diet."
