We know the words "vitamin" and "water" add up to a convincing marketing ploy, but dietitian Kara says you shouldn't buy into it. "Avoid both the diet and the regular varieties," she advises. "They're either high in added sugar, or artificial sweeteners — both of which are not nutritious."
For a good dose of nutrients and energy, Kara would opt for natural nut butter. "High in both protein and fibre, I love that it can be used on either a high-fibre wrap, mixed in with some high-fibre cereal for a sweet snack, or even licked right off the spoon to keep hunger at bay." And of course, if you're thirsty, nothing beats water. Add fresh berries or sliced peaches to your glass for a fruity kick.
