How to Curb Hunger

Trying to Lose Weight? These 12 Tips Will Help You Naturally Feel Less Hungry

If you're trying to lose weight, you know you have to be in a healthy calorie deficit. But when you start reducing your calories, you can't help but feel hungry as you're adjusting to your new diet. Sound familiar? Not to worry. Max Lugavere, bestselling author of Genius Foods, has some useful tips.

"To lose weight, you generally need to reduce your daily calorie intake," Max wrote in an Instagram post. "Unfortunately, weight loss diets often lead to increased appetite and severe hunger. This can make it extremely difficult to lose weight and keep it off and is why I never promote 'diets' to begin with."

So rather than sticking to a really strict diet, Max recommends finding natural, healthy ways to curb your hunger. "Once you make healthier shifts to your eating, your hunger will automatically begin to self-regulate — no need for 'control' whatsoever!" he said. These are the 12 "science-based tricks you can use to reduce excessive hunger and appetite and get on the track to hunger self-regulation."
