Leah Itsines on Being Compared to Her Sister Kayla Itsines

Kayla Itsines's Sister Speaks Out on What It's Like Being Compared to the BBG Queen

With fitness influencers and body-positive role models inundating our social media feeds, it's very difficult to not compare yourself to what you see on the screen, but what if that incredibly toned fitness star was your sister? Kayla Itsines is one of the most influential people in the modern fitness world, and while many people praise Kayla for her successful BBG (Bikini Body Guide) program, her younger sister is revealing what it's like to be compared to Kayla, and it's incredibly uplifting.

"I got a question the other day . . . which I get ALL the time! I'm not offended by much, so I'm happy to answer it here," Leah wrote on Instagram. "The question was 'do you ever find it hard having a different body type to Kayla's?' . . . OBVIOUSLY this lovely girl had no bad intentions with that comment — I completely understand . . . Kayla is daaaaaamn ripped."

Leah answered this frequently received question alongside a gym selfie, just like Kayla, and her message is powerful.

"Of course, when I get compared it's hard at times, BUT Kayla and I have COMPLETELY different body types," Leah wrote. "I will never look like her, she will never look like me . . . just as I will never look like you, and you will never look like me! We are ALLLL different and have things that makes us OURSELVES."

She continued her caption with a message for anyone who's ever compared themselves to someone else, whether it's a sister, friend, significant other, or even someone you see while scrolling through Instagram.

"We can't compare ourselves to other people because they are NOT US," Leah wrote. "We have to focus on being the best possible version of ourselves, because that's in the end what matters. I focus on being the best possible version of me, and that's being super fit so I can keep up with her, super happy and with some damn naan bread in my hand."
