In addition to maintaining a calorie deficit (calculate yours here), successful dieting also requires food quality and the right ratio of macros. Carter simplifies dinner with this breakdown: low-cal veggies, lean protein, and starchy carbs. He added that most people get enough fat from their protein sources, but adding healthy fats into the mix is also acceptable (as long as you keep portions in check).
