Miranda Kerr Beauty and Wellness Routine

Miranda Kerr Loves This Cult Ingredient So Much She Even Adds It to Her Bolognese Sauce

It's no secret that supermodels have some of the best wellness and beauty advice. After all, we can't put down a lasting career in such a demanding industry simply down to good genetics, can we?

So, when we recently had a few minutes to catch up with one of our favourite exports and OG model, Miranda Kerr, there was a lot of ground to cover. From the latest release in her beauty line, Kora Organics, to the cult anti-inflammatory ingredient that's basically her best kept beauty secret, keep reading to see everything she had to say.

POPSUGAR AUSTRALIA: So, what's your favourite way to use your new two-in-one brightening and exfoliating mask?

Miranda Kerr: I like to keep it in the shower and exfoliate every second day, even though that's probably a bit much — I'm just obsessed with it! It's interesting because I created the two-in-one mask because I was looking for a certified organic deep exfoliant, but I also wanted a mask that I could leave on. So, depending on how much time I have, I like to just use it as an exfoliant in the shower because it's so invigorating with the peppermint oil in there, It's also really good for controlling sebum production and fighting blemishes and acne. But when I have more time, I'll put it on and then I'll make the bed, or get Flynn ready for the day and leave it on as a mask and then I'll jump in the shower and wash it off. So, it all just depends on what's going on in the day. I love the benefits of having the mechanical exfoliation as well as the enzymatic exfoliation. I even put it on my hands to exfoliate them, and I've found that it's much smoother!

PS: Why was turmeric a hero ingredient for you? Is it normally a big part of your wellness routine?

MK: Basically for the brightening properties, the fact that it evens the skin tone and it's anti-inflammatory! It just has so many potent antioxidants. Turmeric is so important for delaying the effects of ageing and I've just found it to be incredible for all those reasons. I also cook with it every day. I've got my roast chicken, which is roast turmeric chicken that I make, but I'll also put in in stir fry, or sometimes when I make bolognese I'll add in turmeric. I just find because of the anti-inflammatory properties I'll just kind of add it to everything that I'm cooking with. It's also good as a tea! You know Orchard Street? They made me a special turmeric tea and it's really gentle and soothing and I like it a lot.

PS: Can you share the best wellness advice you've ever received?

MK: I guess to be aware that what you put on your skin soaks in and goes into your blood stream — so many people aren't aware of that. When you read what's on the back of the packaging then you can make an educated choice for what you want to do for your body. So many people are unaware, whether that comes to food or to beauty products, and you know there are so many carcinogenic products out there that build up over time and they can be really detrimental to your health. So, I think be aware of that. I think at the end of the day healthy skin is the most beautiful skin, and health is wealth so it all ties in together.

PS: Do you have any budget wellness products you swear by?

MK: I love body brushes, so just a dry body brush. A tongue scraper — I just find that it's really good to scrape your tongue when you brush your teeth. Epsom salts are really good and coconut oil! I always keep coconut oil around — it's good for literally everything.

PS: Talk us through your current AM beauty routine?

MK: I'll cleanse, put the mask on and then use the Noni Glow Face Oil afterwards. The combination of the brightening mask with the face oil just works really well. And then I use the Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor. I keep it in the fridge because I used to put a bit of ice, or very cold water on my face after I got out of the shower, but now with the rose quartz sculptor I use that to massage in [the oil] and really get the circulation going. It reduces puffiness which is really important to me because in the mornings I get really puffy. It gets in all the right areas, in around my brow bone, my cheek bones, promotes lymphatic drainage and helps your products penetrate deeper. It's the combination of doing those three things to get the glow, and it's literally like an at home facial!
