Talk us through your week of exercise?
It was a pretty quick one this week as I was on the lazy side. The great session with Phoebe on Tuesday night, motivated me to get up Wednesday morning and do a NIKE training session using the app. I was so sore on the Thursday I skipped gym, but did a 45-minute walk with a friend on the weekend.
What was the best part about you week of workouts?
Getting a bit of motivation back. It's only taken a few sessions, but getting that little bit of fitness back is motivating me to keep going, which is always a good feeling.
What challenges did you have to overcome?
Balancing work and exercise has been a little difficult this week. I had a really full schedule, and I was struggling to find the time, even though when I go to the gym I actually have more energy and have a clearer head at work. It’s still a balancing act for me, but I’m sure I’ll get there over the next few weeks.
Did you learn anything new this week?
I've been doing different gym sessions for years now, but the NIKE app actually has a lot I've never heard of, which require me to use muscles I haven't before, which is great to mix it up a bit! The app also features more dynamic versions of the exercises I already know.
If you could have this week over again, what would you change?
Get out of bed and don't snooze the alarm. I would've liked to have fit at least one more session in and potentially gone on another walk (I always find them really relaxing when busy at work), so I just need to stop putting it off and get up! Goals for next week.
How has your fitness improved from your very first session?
I’ve still got a very long way to go, but I am already feeling a stronger core and those high intensity intervals are manageable (not easy!).
