How Sweet is Your Sweet Tooth?
We know that the secret to longevity has a lot to do with what we eat, but what if it's about how we taste it? Sure, taste has a lot to do with our eating habits, it even makes for a pretty simple formula: if it tastes bad, we don't eat it. And if it tastes good, we'll take it. But now with new research in town, there could be a link between taste and living a healthy, longer life.
OK, so the real deal is, this theory is yet to be tested on humans and currently still being carried out on fruit flies, but what's interesting are the results. Bitter tastes seem to have a negative effect on the length you live, while (to our excitement) sweet tastes had positive effects. On top of this, was the surprising stats on how the fruit flies tasted water. It's suggested that the fruit flies that were unable to taste water lived up to 43 percent longer than flies who could. Wow!
