Want to try your hand at a little at-home modelling? Well, now is your time! Brisbane-based activewear label Active Truth is searching for women to star in its upcoming photoshoot. And, you don’t need to be a model or an influencer to take part.

The photoshoot is for Active Truth’s third annual limited-edition collection of activewear that raises money for Share the Dignity — a charity that distributes sanitary items to those in need and is working to end period poverty in Australia.

A recent research report from Share the Dignity found that one in five people who menstruate (out of 125,205 participants) has had to improvise on period products due to the cost. This means, instead of using a pad, tampons or period cup, they are forced to use items like rolled-up toilet paper or socks.

So, it’s safe to say that this photoshoot is for a good cause. To take part, all you need is a camera (your smartphone is perfect!) and someone to take a few shots of you — yep, this whole shoot can be captured from the comfort of your own home.

Active Truth wants you to share the ways you like to move via this shoot. That could include walking outside in the sunshine, playing in the backyard with your kids or a Zoom exercise class in your lounge room — whatever it might be, pop on your activewear and snap a few pictures of yourself whilst doing it.

To get involved with this photoshoot, you simply need to answer a few application questions on the Active Truth website. If you are chosen, there are a few guidelines to keep in mind. You must take photos and videos wearing the gifted Active Truth clothing, which includes a crop top and tights, and understand you will not be paid for your time, or the ongoing use of the images and videos, but you will be gifted the products as a thank you.

All selected participants will be notified by August 19 and all content needs to be submitted to Active Truth by September 1. The limited-edition activewear collection launches on September 16, just in time for Share the Dignity’s virtual exercise event, Move4Dignity, in October.

For more information and to apply for the photoshoot, head to the Active Truth website. Consider sending this on to a friend or family member who you think might want to get involved in as well — the more, the merrier! To get involved with Share the Dignity or to make a donation, head here.
