After using your Peloton quite a few times, for everything from core work to cardio, you quickly realize that cleaning becomes necessary (hello, sweat!). Even more, if you keep it in your living room or even bedroom, it is super important for everyone’s wellness and health to keep your bike as squeaky clean as possible, especially if you share it. Now the question is: how do I clean it?

The Frame

According to members who shared their easy cleaning tips and tricks with the Peloton website, it’s best to avoid abrasive cleaning products, especially because it can damage your bike’s hardware. Merisue P., a Peloton member, recommends Clorox wipes, which kill germs and bacteria, and will leave your bike ready for use for another family member. Others sharing their tips recommend just simple baby wipes, which will delicately clean your frame, screen, and seat. Peloton themselves recommend using a gentle cleanser or damp cloth to wipe down and remove all sweat from the frame, and do not recommend soap or water. Always be sure to thoroughly dry the frame afterwards, too.

The Screen

The screen needs special attention too, and according to Peloton, you should only use an approved electronic cleaner that is made specifically for use with LCD, Plasma or other flatscreens, plus a delicate microfiber cloth to wipe away residue.

When in Doubt, Spray

Wipes might be one of the easiest options out there, but if you want to get to every nook and cranny, try using a spray like OdoBan Disinfectant Spray. With a eucalyptus scent to neutralize odors and the ability to kill 99.9% of germs, this spray works as both a multipurpose cleaner and an air freshener, making your post-workout room feel more like a spa than a gym. Simply spray it on a towel and wipe down your bike, and then use the spray to clean the floor beneath you.

Happy Peloton-ing!
