Switch Off Insomnia Along With Your Gadgets
In our technology-filled world, insomnia is becoming more and more prevalent. To get a better night’s sleep, avoid any devices with a backlight (tablets, smart phones, laptops) for at least an hour before bed. The backlight mimics the sun, which tricks our brain and causes the release of melatonin, the "awake" hormone. Make sure your bedroom is as dark as possible and that the temperature inside is comfortable. Some people also like a few drops of lavender essential oil on the underside of their pillow to help them to drift off.
