I Tried Plump It’s No Needles Dermal Filler Dubbed “Botox In a Bottle” and I Have Thoughts

Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler is the latest beauty product trending on TikTok, with one selling every five minutes during its first week of launch.

At 31, it’s fair to say that some of the collagen in my face has already jumped ship. I’ve definitely started to notice that the lines on my forehead have become a more permanent fixture, my nasolabial folds (the technical term for the creases that run from the side of your nose to the corner of your mouth) are deeper, and my cheeks don’t have as much of that juicy plumpness they once did.

So when Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler popped up on my For You page promising to turn back the clock on those bugbears, I was interested. Softened fine lines and wrinkles? Yes, please. Tightened and lifted eye bags? Sign me up. Blurred pores? Now you’re just showing off, surely. The consumer trial results are good too, with 94 percent of those who tried it describing the product as “Botox in a bottle”.

At £20 for 5 tubes, it’s considerably cheaper than actual filler, plus there’s no need to worry about needles – or the admin of finding a trustworthy practitioner. It’s a why-not-give-it-a-go kind of price, so I did just that…

About the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler

  • One starter kit contains 5 resealable pods, which equals 10 applications.
  • Results are promised in three minutes and last for six to nine hours.
  • Claims to work on fine lines, wrinkles, eye bags, pitted acne scarring, and enlarged pores.
  • The key ingredient is a patented peptide called Argireline.
  • What I Like About the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler

The first thing I noticed about this product is that the tubes are absolutely teeny tiny – not too much bigger than a 50p. In my head, I’d expected them to be on par with a tube of lip balm.

I applied the serum to clean, dry skin by lightly patting a thin layer onto the areas I wanted to target. It’s quite thick, peach-toned in colour, and glides onto skin like a primer – easy. The catch is that in order to get it to work, you need to stay completely expressionless for the next three minutes to avoid creasing the formula. My advice? Leave your phone well out of sight so you’re not tempted to laugh at anything on the group chat.

During those minutes, I felt my skin start to feel tighter – like when your face mask dries up and you feel like you’re turning to stone. It’s worth noting here that because it has that clay-like texture when dry, you do need to apply it with quite a light touch. If you go in too heavy-handed (like I did around my forehead) you’ll end up with a tell-tale powdery residue.

I only used Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler on one side of my face so I could do a comparison, and I wouldn’t say the difference in my before and photos was huge. It definitely didn’t seem to reduce my crow’s feet, but my eye bags looked a little less heavy, the lines at the side of my mouth appeared softer, and my cheek did look higher and bouncier on one side. It’s not visible in photos, but I could see my pores were less prominent in the mirror, too.

The hero ingredient in the product is Argireline, a type of peptide that works by blocking the muscle movements that lead to wrinkles. It’s been dubbed as an alternative to Botox, which works in a similar way. Rumour has it that Argireline can give instant results, but my instinct given how this feels on the skin, is that the initial lifting and tightening effect is coming more from the clay part of the formula, which contracts as it dries. That being said, the feeling of tightness and having product on my skin wore off after about an hour, but my lines were definitely still less visible. My thoughts? That the skincare element of the formula takes over from the makeup one over time.

Overall, I wouldn’t say that this product changed my life and made me look 25 again, but it did soften the edges a little and make me look less tired. The little tubes are resealable, giving you on average about 10 uses in one pack – more if you’re using sparingly. That works out to about £2 per application, so probably slightly less than your morning latte, which I don’t think is unreasonable in return for smoother, younger-looking skin.

How to Use the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler

As the results wear off between six and nine hours later, it’s only really worth using the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler during the day so you can enjoy the results. It’s best applied to clean, dry skin and followed with oil-free makeup and skincare so as not to disturb the formula. There’s no limit to how often you can use it, and no reason why you couldn’t apply it every day.

What to Consider Before Trying the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler

Before buying the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler, my main piece of advice would be to manage expectations. It’s not actual filler, and the results are temporary. You’ll only be able to keep them up if you keep applying. It’s also important to keep in mind that applying skincare and makeup over the top can dislodge and remove the product, especially if it’s oil-based, so be careful when layering both.

As for skin suitability, I’m not convinced this would work on deeper skin tones without creating a chalky finish. The other potential downside is it is mattifying, so if you already have dry or dehydrated skin it is likely to amplify those concerns. The good news is that the ingredients within the formula mean that it should be suitable for sensitive skin, and there’s none of the stinging that you get with a plumping lip gloss.

Where to Buy the Plump It! No Needles Dermal Filler
