You Can Now Get Personalised Vitamin Subscriptions, And Sign Us Up
If you've ever waded through a vitamin and supplement aisle, you'll know it's hard to figure out what exactly it is that you need to be taking to compliment your current diet. There's an overwhelming amount of choice and each product is slathered in so many buzzwords that you're not 100 percent sure what they even mean or do for your body.
Cue: Subscription vitamins services.
Recently, more and more if them have been popping up in Australia with the latest being Vitable. The Aussie company offers a monthly based subscription service that aims to take the guess work out of purchasing the vitamins and supplements you need for optimum health.
So how does it work?
Basically, you take a quick quiz on their website that asks you questions about your diet and lifestyle, and which areas you're looking to improve. It then takes the results and comes up with a 'prescription' of vitamins you should be taking daily to meet your needs. They then package them up into little daily packets and send them to you in a cute cardboard dispenser. Each month a fresh batch of your subscription will be sent to you. If your needs change, you simply update your order and they'll send you your new batch the following month. Plus, on delivery it comes with a guide to the vitamins you're taking that includes dosage and what exactly each vitamin or supplement does for you health.
I tried it and I have thoughts . . .
First up, I like the idea of a subscription vitamin service as it means that I no longer have to wander the vitamin aisle overwhelmed by choice, hopelessly guessing what I may or may not need. The quiz eliminated that and ultimately gave me hours of my life back. I also found the quiz really user-friendly and it picked up on all my needs — hair and nail health, muscle recovery, sleep aid, digestion and gut health and an energy booster. My packet looked a little like this: two magnesium capsules, one B complex tablet, one biotin tablet and one probiotic a day, which aligned really well with my health and wellness goals.
Another reason I liked the subscription (and will most likely continue with it), is that they come in (recyclable) daily packets, meaning when I'm on the go I can take them with me without carrying around ten million chunky vitamin bottles.
So What's it Cost?
The price of your subscription will vary, depending on your needs and how many vitamins and supplements are delivered to you monthly. For me, it works out to be significantly cheaper than purchasing bottles and bottles of the same vitamins, so I'd say it was much more financially affordable than I expected.
