Please Enjoy This Video Of a Man Who’s Utterly Befuddled By Fall Guys

To the uninitiated, Fall Guys is a strange game. You play as squishy bean people who speak exclusively in little squeaks and “woo!”s. Sometimes those beans wear hot dog costumes and sometimes they go full nude. It’s almost aggressively cute if you know how to play, and completely alien if you don’t — and this man, who was unfortunately caught up in a PR stunt to celebrate the game going free to play, definitely doesn’t understand any of it.

“Marketing gave us a bag of monies, so we went to Skegness and sponsored ourselves a bench,” states a video about the stunt. The message is accompanied by four adults in inflatable bean people costumes waddling along the beach in Skegness, a tiny seaside town in England, before it cuts to the bench in question. The mayor of Skegness is there to declare the bench officially open, even drawing aside a tiny red velvet curtain to mark the occasion.

But it’s not this video that belies the fact the mayor has no idea what’s going on or why he’s doing this. In a separate video posted to the game’s Twitter account, a string trio — the Bowjangles — play a rousing rendition of the Fall Guys theme song while one of the inflatable beans dances behind the bench. They’re joined by who I can only assume is the Skegness town mascot, who’s trying his best to match the bean’s energy, and the mayor, who has big “I don’t know what to do with my hands” energy.

Please watch the video and watch the man second from the right. He’s about to be more confused than he ever has been.

Physically, he is here opening this Fall Guys bench, but mentally this man has never heard of Fall Guys in his life.

Obviously his reaction might have been planned, but I prefer to believe he was excited to go along with this silly little video game’s plan in his official capacity as mayor until he realised it would involve standing next to a bench for almost three minutes while a band played a song he didn’t know.
