HUGE: The God of War: Ragnarok Collector’s Edition Comes With a Replica Of Thor’s Hammer

The God of War: Ragnarok release date has finally been confirmed for November 9 on PS5 and PS4, and we also know that the collector’s edition will come with a 16-inch replica of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir.

Picking up three years after the events of 2018’s critically acclaimed God of War, Ragnarok will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they try to survive in the freezing winds of Fimbulwinter. In Norse mythology, Fimbulwinter is the harsh winter that foretells the start of Ragnarök, the apocalyptic end of the world which we’ve seen recently in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Taika Waititi’s Thor Ragnarok.

That’s about all we know of the story, but a post on the PlayStation blog revealed that the relationship between Kratos and Atreus will still be a major point of contention in this game.

“Together, Kratos and Atreus will have to make a choice about which path they will take. Whatever they choose will define the fate of all those living in the Nine Realms as Ragnarök approaches.”

We also know that Thor will be one of two villains in the game, hence his hammer being included in the collector’s edition.

What Is the God of War: Ragnarok Release Date?

The rumours of a November 2022 release date were true: the release date for God of War Ragnarok is November 9 for PS5 and PS4.

Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition and Jotnar Edition, plus the standard edition and digital deluxe edition, open on July 15. Everyone who pre-orders the game will receive the Kratos Rising Snow Armour and Atreus Risen Snow Tunic cosmetics to use in-game.
