Nvidia unveiled the 40 Series graphics cards last night, and the TL;DR is they’re a big deal for PC gaming. The RTX 4080 and 4090 GPUs offer a massive jump in performance and ray tracing, doubling what the already-impressive 30 Series could do.

These are the prices for the Founders Edition cards, which are the ones made directly by Nvidia. Third-party cards tend to cost a little more, but they’ll be much easier to get.
By comparison, a 3080 Ti (the 30 Series card with the closest performance to the 4080) currently costs, roughly, $1,500, while the 3090 Ti, the last-gen card with the closest performance to the 4090, costs roughly $2000.
