That fiddle leaf fig is on point!
From 1984 to 1996, power dressing wasn't just for working women trying to break through the glass ceiling, it was also totally an interiors trend. The more opulent, bespoke and coordinated, the better. Lucky for us this was exactly the time in which Murder She Wrote was watched by 26 million viewers every week.
People were enthralled as mystery writer turned amateur detective Jessica Fletcher solved murder after murder in upper middle class Cabot Cove in Maine, USA. An idyllic town with evidently excellent interior designers, and worryingly high crime rates — 12 seasons worth.
Down-to-earth widower and ex-English teacher Jessica was of course played by Angela Lansbury — whose outfits are killer (excuse the pun) — but one Instagram account has alerted us to the fact that the real stars of this series are the sets! Colour-blocked foyers, extravagant art-deco homewares and a plethora of indoor plants make Murder She Wrote worthy of a rewatch. Preferably in a binge-viewing sesh.
Interiors of Murder She Wrote is adding a much-needed Lansbury throwback to our daily Insta scroll — and we can't get enough. Here are some of our favourites so far.
