The Block Lounge and Dining Rooms That Caused a Dual Win
This week on The Block was controversial, to say the least. There were accusations of "cheating" being thrown around all over the place and more than a touch of deception. It got ugly, but ultimately it seemed everyone wanted to stay friends — poor Jason was really down on himself for upsetting Georgia: "If you play like an arsehole or a turkey, at the end of the day, what have you won?"
That was until the end of this week's room judging. Josh and Elyse decided to use their bonus point (they were only half a point behind), which meant they, and Ronnie and Georgia, tied for first and took home $5,000 each. Following the celebrations, Ronnie had something to say. He'd decided he'd waited too long for Elyse and Josh to pay the $8,700 they took off them after the challenge room week (the requirement was in their safe instructions). Ronnie was light-hearted about it, but in the discussion it was revealed that Ronnie and Georgia were also given an extra $50,000 in their safe. Which the other contestants didn't know about.
Scotty said he would deduct the $8,700 from Josh and Elyse to give to Ronnie and Georgia, and that he'd also be taking out a $1,000 noise complaint fine. So the win was fairly spoilt for Elyse and Josh, they won $5,000 but lost $9,700. Hence, they didn't feel much like spending the night with Ronnie and Georgia in the winner's Stayz house, so they didn't go. Ronnie and Georgia on the other hand were really excited to spent the time getting to know their competitors, they even picked up snacks. Things are going to be a bit tense back on-site after that.
