In 2015 Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky put their Malibu home up for sale and announced they were moving, with their three young children, back to Australia. Specifically, into the retreat-style property near Byron Bay that the family bought in late 2014, for $7 million.

Chris told the Kyle and Jackie O Show it was a decision he and Elsa made for the benefit of their kids. "We can walk straight down (to) the beach, we can have a normal existence and the kids have a hell of a lot more fun there than they did back in the States," said Chris. It's no secret Chris loves his home country — he helped secure Queensland as the filming location for the latest Thor film, and recently lent his voice to a new Tourism Australia campaign.

Obviously, we're stoked to have Chris back on home soil! And while it might be a tad optimistic, we're holding out for an invite to come stay for the weekend. With both a lap- and lagoon-style pool, large indoor-outdoor living areas, gymnasium, yoga space and expansive views of a secluded beach, the property really does look like a Balinese resort.
