Why Is It So Damn Hard to Choose a White Paint?
Last week a home-owning friend of mine sent a frantic message to our group chat: "Does anyone know any good white paints?!" She'd just returned home after spending a weekend at her parents to give the painter an opportunity to finish his work, to find that once on the walls, the paint she thought was a clean white, was actually lemon-coloured.
It's a mistake that's actually not that uncommon. "No two whites are the same, and with so many stunning choices available, it can be hard to know where to start when choosing one for your home," says Dulux colour expert Andrea Lucena-Orr. "Warm and cool whites have different undertones and can help you set a mood within a room."
To tackle the task of finding the perfect white, Dulux enlisted four experts to explore how various elements (such as the amount of natural light your home receives and the colours of your flooring and soft furnishings) can affect the way a shade looks on your walls to help them find the perfect white for their space so that you can for yours.
