The Piper Room
We love it when something old becomes something new. Last year the Old Clare Hotel was turned from a dive bar into the chicest thing in Central Sydney, and now the Ovolo Woolloomooloo (formerly Blue Hotel) on the 100-year-old Woolloomooloo Wharf is giving us massive interiors envy.
The main laneway-like space is a fusion of fun and design. This central hub, which is open to the public, is full of bright colours and surprises around every corner — think arcade games, kissing booths, private dining room and a cosy little reading nooks. Known as Lo Lounge, this is a place to come for amazing food and drinks. What's great is that whilst the space is super modern, it maintains it's historic structure and old-school appeal.
All that and we haven't even got to the guest rooms, all 100 of them have been reimagined as funky and glamorous spaces. It's the result of a collaboration between Ovolo and leading international design practice Hassell.
Most recently, the hotel has unleashed it's impressive event space offering — making it an incredible place to stay and play.
