There's a reason millennial pink has categorised a whole generation. It's exciting, flattering and enticing. It's a colour that creates warmth and light, but to make it work in an interior scape, it needs depth. In the latest colour trend release for Dulux, that depth comes by pairing it with terracotta, russet and pops of soft green. And it's beautiful.
The palette is one that immediately gives a space an earthy, but very modern feel. "It exudes warmth, but in a sophisticated and contemporary way," says Andrea Lucena-Orr, Dulux
Colour Expert. "It is easy to work with, allowing you to add character with minimal fuss."
It also works amazingly with a natural white, so if you are more cautious when it comes to colour, you'll find just a little can make a big impact. Rather than painting a whole room, look to paint a section of a wall, room divider or piece of furniture. Interior stylist Michelle Halford says the adding decor with texture is the perfect offset for this autumnal hues, "Introduce furniture and accessories in warm, natural materials, like a vintage timber console or dresser, rattan chairs, woven lighting and baskets. Bold abstract art, textured wall hangings and plenty of greenery provide the perfect finishing touches. Use accents of black in furniture and artwork to ground your scheme."
Stylist Bree Leech took the colour palette to an apartment setting to show just how good it can look. Check it out below.
