The Making of the Royal Wedding Cake: 200 Amalfi Lemons, 500 Eggs and More
With one more sleep to go till the royal wedding, we're getting more and more insight into how preparations are progressing for the big day. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended their wedding rehearsal yesterday, and just recently, Kensington Palace gave us an insight into how the wedding cake is being made.
Claire Ptak of Violet Bakery is creating a lemon elderflower cake for the event, which will "incorporate the bright flavours of Spring." According to Kensington Palace, the cake involves 200 Amalfi lemons, 500 organic eggs (from Suffolk), 20 kilos of butter, 20 kilos of sugar, 20 kilos of flour, and 10 bottles of Sandringham elderflower cordial.
