Cheryl Celebrates Birthday Milestone: “So…This Is 40”

Growing older is inevitable and a privilege, but that still doesn’t make it any less shocking when stars hit the big milestones. Though she might seem ageless, Cheryl celebrated her 40th birthday on 30 June.

The singer took to Instagram on the day to share a glimpse of her celebrations, which included modelling an impressive pair of giant sunflower glasses (whilst her actual pair of sunglasses were on top of her head). She finished off her birthday girl look with a pink tie-front button-up shirt, and a pair of green palazzo trousers while celebrating at the Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk. She simply captioned the photo with “So…this is 40”.

Beneath her Instagram post, she was greeted by a slew of birthday well-wishes from celebrity friends and fans alike, including from fellow Geordie Vicky Pattison, who wrote: “Happy birthday beautiful girl ♥️”. Beauty influencer Jake-Jamie also chimed in, adding: “Happiest 40th Birthday Cheryl! Wishing you a year ahead filled with so much love, health and happiness xxx”.

Though Cheryl rose to fame at just 19-years-old on series “Popstars: The Rivals” before being added to girl group Girls Aloud, the “Fight For This Love” hitmaker made a recent comeback in the West End thriller “2:22 A Ghost Story”, where she played the role of Jenny between January and April this year. “It is a totally new and exciting experience for me,” the star said on Instagram. This new step into acting is a move from her stint as a judge on “The X Factor”.

In 2006, Cheryl married footballer Ashley Cole, and was frequently pictured alongside Victoria Beckham watching their partners from the football stands. After reports that Cole was unfaithful, their marriage ended in divorce in 2010. Cheryl went on to welcome a son with One Direction’s Liam Payne two years after they started dating. The pair split one year later, but are still co-parenting their six-year-old together. Happy birthday, Cheryl!
