LaKeith Stanfield’s Dating History Led Him to Wife Kasmere Trice

Despite starring in some extremely popular movies, like “Selma” and “Get Out,” LaKeith Stanfield remains primarily private when it comes to his personal life. In July 2023, the actor revealed that he’d quietly tied the knot with Kasmere Trice. On top of that, Stanfield shared the beautiful news that he and Trice had welcomed a baby into the world.
While discussing these monumental moments in his life with People, 32-year-old Stanfield shared why he prefers to stay tight-lipped about his relationships and family life. “Being in the public eye can be something that’s amazing, but it can also be something that is very hard on you,” he said. “There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody.”
The couple told the publication they decided to share their wedding and baby news with the world because they wanted “to be the ones to tell our story.” They added, “We’re bringing our family forward so we may inspire others.”
Before his relationship with Trice, Stanfield was linked to “The Mindy Project” star Xosha Roquemore, with whom he shares a daughter. Read more about the actor’s dating history ahead.

Stanfield and Roquemore were first linked in 2015. They began stepping out for red carpet events together in August of that year, making their debut red carpet appearance at the “Straight Outta Compton” premiere.
They welcomed a daughter in June 2017. At the time, E! News reported that Roquemore tweeted then deleted a picture of herself breastfeeding, captioning the post, “Mom.”
In June 2023, Stanfield reflected on being a father by sharing a very rare photo of the backs of his children, one seemingly being the daughter he shares with Roquemore.
“Kids force you to experience everything all over again. When I look into their eyes, I see infinite untapped potential. Their openness can remind us how we sometimes take ourselves seriously and let the small things bother us,” he wrote. “That candor reminds us that it’s all just music. They make me laugh those hearty laughs that come straight from the gut and force me to stay on my Ps and Qs to ensure that what I impart to them I also stand by. I remember growing up feeling like something was missing. I love being someone to talk to, and I love being someone to rest on.”
“I love being someone to ask a million questions to. I love how they love my music. I love the giddy and sometimes embarrassing feeling of being on billboards and seeing the wonder/confusion in their eyes,” he added. “I love dressing up and dressing them up, too. I love the drive to school. I love the feeling of a clean, fresh diaper change. I love the hard times with broccoli and its cousins. I love being here. I love being a dad.”
It’s unclear when the two split, but it seems it was sometime in 2020.

It’s unclear when Stanfield and Trice first started dating, but what is known is that their connection was strong from the start. People previously reported that the couple met in Canada, where Stanfield was working at the time. In fact, he told the outlet that love “just smacked” them “out of nowhere.”
“I’m working on my music, writing and writing, and then this person who I was seemingly writing about pops up in my life,” he added. “It was strange.”
Stanfield asked Trice for her hand in marriage while on a romantic vacation just ahead of the model’s birthday in December 2022. The couple confirmed their wedding news to People in July 2023. At the time, they also revealed they had quietly welcomed their first child together. Speaking about navigating life in the spotlight, Stanfield shared, “Sometimes, when things can get difficult, you have to remember that what’s most important is the child and that we’re pushing ourselves to grow, so we can reflect back to them the good things.”
That same month, Trice gushed over her life as a wife and mom in a lengthy Instagram post featuring pictures of the couple and moments from their baby shower. “When i think upon this life, this love, our special and intentionally crafted blessing, i conjure an omnipresent feeling of gratitude. true, delicate gratitude and joy granted from the most high to us and from us to the universe,” she wrote. “To love and be loved by someone so magical, majestical, outwardly expressive and caring, my lakeith 💛, is amazing. amazing is an understatement here.”
