Ahead of the season four premiere of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” the Prime Video series has been renewed for a fifth and final season. Season five will hopefully give its namesake character one last chance to make her standup-comedy dreams come true.

“Amy, Dan, and ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ have blazed an unparalleled path, elevating the stories we tell about women, challenging the norms in our industry, and forever altering the entertainment landscape with their one-of-a-kind storytelling,” Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement, adding, “This series has meant so much to Prime Video and the effects of its success will be felt long after its final season.”

Over the last five years, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has racked up plenty of awards – including 20 Emmys and three Golden Globes. The critically acclaimed series debuted in 2017, introducing viewers to Rachel Brosnahan’s comedic Miriam “Midge” Maisel. The show also stars Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Alex Borstein, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, and Michael Zegen.

Production for season five of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is already underway in New York City. Season four premieres on Feb. 18.
