The Full Moon in Leo provides a spotlight on our lives from the enriching sun. So, get ready to sit upon your throne and embrace the lioness within you with the healing powers of a spiritual limpia.

When Is the Full Moon in Leo 2022?

On Feb. 16 at 11:59 a.m. ET, the Leo full moon will peak. While it occurs during the coldest month of the year, the fifth zodiac sign is ruled by the sun, the powerful star that nourishes us, our planet, and the solar system. The sun is at the center of it all with everything else revolving around it, which is true to Leos, who love being the center of attention.

What Is the 2022 Full Moon in Leo’s Meaning?

Allow this full moon to draw out the best traits of Leo within you. This fire sign is warm and inviting and thrives on generosity and confidence. But be careful not to tip the scale off balance and err on the side of egotistical, conceited, or even materialistic. Instead, be that silent yet fierce lioness sitting atop your throne, roaring loudly only when necessary. Leos radiate beauty, and this full moon gives us the power to tap into our inner beauty and adorn ourselves with things that make us feel beautiful on the outside. This could be your favorite piece of jewelry, a sexy little black dress, or even a scent that intoxicates your senses.

If feeling beautiful is challenging to you, write a list under the full moon of all the things that make you feel insecure. Read it out loud and say, “These things no longer define me. As I set them free, I heal.” Then, safely and carefully burn the paper over a cold bowl of water. Drop whatever is left of the paper into the water, and then discard it outside.

The fire ritual could accompany this Full Moon in Leo limpia or not. It’s up to you and what you’re feeling called to do. This limpia (spiritual cleansing) is intended to rid you of what no longer serves you, so you can invite in all that you do want and desire. It creates the space for the areas in our lives where we want to thrive and washes away those things that have been weighing us down.

Full Moon in Leo Limpia Recipe

Ingredients:

Sage, Sweetgrass, or Palo Santo

Epsom or Pink Himalayan salt

Agua de Florida or Florida Water

Tiger’s Eye (possesses the energy of the sun), black onyx, garnet, carnelian, or peridot crystals

Sunflowers or any yellow flower will do

Chamomile, tarragon, lemon balm herbs

Frankincense, cypress, geranium, or cedarwood oil

Ritual:

1. Prepare your limpia by adding 1 to 2 cups of Epsom salt and a few splashes of Agua de Florida to a bathtub with warm water. Or you can make this limpia in a large bowl and pour it over your body while standing in the shower.

2. Place the crystal of your choice in the water. Just make sure it’s a crystal that can be submerged in water without damage. Tiger’s Eye is a great choice for this limpia.

3. Add a handful of herbs, several drops of essential oil(s), and cover the top of the water with flower petals.

4. Pray over the water, and set your intention.

5. Soak for 20-40 minutes.

Since this full moon is two days after Valentine’s Day, don’t be shy! Invite your lover to join you for the limpia whether in the bath or shower. If you’re rolling solo, that’s completely fine! Love on yourself the way you’d want someone else to. That self-love will raise you to a vibrational frequency that will help attract the love of your life.
