Kathryn Hahn's 2 Kids Are Absolutely Adorable – Meet Leonard and Mae!

She may play a bad mom in the movies, but in real life, actress Kathryn Hahn is just a regular mom to two kiddos! The 47–year-old Emmy-nominated actress and comedian, known for her roles in the Bad Moms film series, the Amazon series Transparent, and more recently Disney+’s WandaVision, has been married to actor Ethan Sandler since 2002. The couple have two children: a son, 14-year-old Leonard, and a daughter, 11-year-old Mae.

Since becoming a mom in 2006, Hahn has been vocal about how much parenting has changed her. “I’ve learned just how much capacity for love a heart has,” she told Esquire in 2016. “You can’t believe it. I couldn’t believe after having my first that I could ever love anything as much as him. And then when I had my daughter ― your heart just expands. There’s so much room in it. It’s been a nuts, chaotic mess and I love it.”

Though Hahn is vocal about parenting, she is still fairly private about her kids. Here’s what we know about her and Sandler’s two children.

Leonard Sandler

Hahn and Sandler had their son, Leonard, in 2006. Hahn has mentioned that getting pregnant wasn’t as easy as she expected. She also told Bustle in 2016 that going on family trips is her favorite activity. “I love a road trip and a family cabin with nothing, that’s like my favorite. My happiest place. It’s just us being together, the four of us. Making our own food and playing dumb games together, all snuggling. The thought of that makes me so happy.”

Mae Sandler

Mae, born in 2009, actually inspired Hahn to write her own children’s book, called My Wish For You, which was published by Scholastic in 2018. The book shares messages on the power every girl has deep inside herself.

“As I was listening to my then-6-year-old girl monologue about her day, I was struck by how authentic and full she was – how sure of her own voice and loud and self-respecting,” Hahn told Entertainment Weekly in 2017. “And I thought of how those qualities can start to disappear as a young girl grows up. So we co-authored a piece on how to be a woman, my daughter and I. It was all advice I needed to hear. When I was approached to turn it into a children’s book, I didn’t hesitate.”
