This Sydney-Based Instagram Illustrator Wants You to Know You Are Beautiful
There is a growing community of Instagrammers who showcase their artwork that celebrates women and all the bits we're told to hide. It's a group that Instagram itself is championing as the message of self-love is important to them. We've seen in recent months platform updates like the "offensive" comments filter (which automatically hides offensive or inappropriate comments), and the built in "seek support" option for people at risk of suicide or self harm.
Instagram has said its goal is "to build a safe environment and promote positive conversations between community members", and championing positive body image artists like Sydney-based Christine's account @pink_bits, is one of those ways. Christine's simple but powerful illustrations show women of all shapes, sizes and colours flaunting everything from their stretch marks to their body hair. All encapsulate her message that all bodies are just right.
