Tinder's New Feature Is Giving Us Myspace Flashbacks
If you're a '90s kid, you'll remember how on Myspace — the height of social cool in our highschool years — let you add a song to your profile page which would play anytime someone visited. Now your Tinder profile will do the same thing. Teaming up with Spotify (who teamed up with another dating app just a few months ago), Tinder have produced a new feature which allows you add your "anthem" to your profile for others to see. You can also swipe to see who else shares the same musical interests.
Tinder already suggests matches based on your swiped preferences, mutual friends and common interests, and now music preference will be added into their suggestions. The feature works even if you don't have a Spotify account, so it could potentially be a new way to listen to music if you're short on cash? For the anxious-dater however, we feel this is just going to add another level of stress to creating a Tinder profile. Remember how carefully you chose your Myspace song? Are The Strokes too try-hard? Is My Chemical Romance too emo? And we (usually) weren't even trying to land a date with that song choice.
